The College's commitment to combining education with the creation of knowledge provides a fertile environment for research that has spawned a host of scientific breakthroughs and technical advances. Achievements since it founding include undertaking the projects of the National Science Fund, Doctoral Fund of National Education Ministry, high technical shipping scientific projects, national "863" plan and subproject, the defense "973" plan project and fund of the province and ministry, as well as some other military and civil projects, many of which have been awarded at the provincial, the ministerial and national levels.
